Veteran Cliff Floyd will have an MRI exam Thursday on a right knee that has had to be drained of fluid twice in the last two weeks.

"This has never happened before, so definitely I'm concerned," Floyd said. "I feel bad for everyone; I can't get on the field. This is something I haven't been able to shake.

"This organization wanted me and I really want to come through for this team. I feel terrible."

Floyd has been out since opening day with a right shoulder strain. The shoulder is healthy, and Floyd was getting ready to head for a rehab assignment last weekend when he noticed his knee being non-supportive while taking a shower. Moments later it was swollen to the point where he had trouble pulling his pants over the knee.

"After the MRI, we'll go forward with a plan," manager Bud Black said. But the Padres honestly don't know what that plan will be.

"If there's that much fluid in there, something must be going on," Floyd said.

GIANTS 1, PADRES 0 (10 innings): Bengie Molina hit a ground-rule, 10th-inning double that one-hopped the wall in left-center at AT&T Park on Wednesday afternoon to give the Giants a sweep of the two-game series. The sweep dropped the Padres to 4-4 for the eight-game road trip that ended Wednesday. Chris Young and Luke Gregerson combined on nine innings of two-hit, scoreless baseball before the Giants scored on Edwin Moreno in the 10th.
