When he walked off the field Wednesday night at Petco Park, Peavy had not seen a run scored on his behalf for 20 innings -- dating back to Adrian Gonzalez's two-run homer against Pittsburgh on April 26.
Since Gonzalez's blast, the Padres have gone 8-for-64 (.125) while hitting into five double plays during Peavy's time on the mound.
"I'm used to pitching in games like this," said Peavy, who fell to 2-4. The Padres are 2-5 in his seven starts.
DIAMONDBACKS 3, PADRES 1: Justin Upton hit a two-run homer off Jake Peavy to end a scoreless tie in the sixth, and he added a homer off Duaner Sanchez two innings later to give Arizona and Jon Garland all the runs necessary. The Padres fell to 3-13 over the last 16 games after a 9-3 start.
