--3B Kevin Kouzmanoff had a horrible night at the plate. Not only did he go 0-for-6, he accounted for nine outs and stranded seven runners in scoring position. In his last three at-bats, Kouzmanoff bounced into a triple play, grounded into a double play with runners on first and second and no one out and popped out with the bases loaded and the score still tied in the 13th and one out.
--RHP Greg Maddux held LF Paul McAnulty accountable in the Padres' dugout after the first inning Friday night. With one out, McAnulty caught Randy Winn's fly in short left, but didn't react to Fred Lewis tagging up at third and scoring. McAnulty's belated throw was both late and wide. --Friday night marked the fourth time this season that the Padres couldn't hold a lead after Greg Maddux left the game. He gave up two runs on five hits over six innings against the Giants and departed with a 3-2 lead. The Giants tied the score in the seventh.
--2B Tadahito Iguchi went 2-for-5 to extend his hitting streak to eight games (12-for-40). More important, he drew the one-out walk in the 13th that started the Padres' four-run, game-winning rally.
--RHP Cha Seung Baek struck out the side in the 12th in his Padres debut Friday and picked up the win when the Padres scored four times in the 13th.
--RF Brian Giles hit a two-run triple in the third and doubled in the 13th to either drive in or score four of the Padres' first five runs.
BY THE NUMBERS: 5 -- Season-high homers hit by the Padres on May 25 in the 18-inning, 12-9 win over the Reds.
