Only twice this season has Peavy won back-to-back starts. --RHP Trevor Hoffman has been stuck on 28 saves since Sept. 4, meaning he needs two saves in the final nine games to extend his major league record for 30-save seasons to 13. Aside from 2003, when he missed the bulk of the season following shoulder surgery, Hoffman hasn't fallen short of 30 saves since 1994 (his first full season with the Padres).
