San Diego Padres Roster Report 2009-05-12
--2B David Eckstein is listed as day-to-day after being hit in the ribs by a Roy Oswalt pitch Sunday. Eckstein had to come out of the game, but no X-rays were necessary.

--OF Drew Macias was recalled from Class AAA Portland Monday. He will replace LHP Arturo Lopez on the 25-man roster. Lopez was optioned to Portland after Sunday's game in Houston. This is the third time Macias has been called up already this season. He was promoted the first time on opening day when Cliff Floyd went on the disabled list, then was returned to Portland four days later. He was recalled again on April 26 and optioned out two days later. He is 1-for-3 in three pinch-hitting appearances for the Padres.

--1B Adrian Gonzalez believes the Padres should call up Kyle Blanks, whose best position is first base. Blanks has just started playing left field with Class AAA Portland. "I think he's a guy who should be up here," Gonzalez told the San Diego Union-Tribune.

--CF Scott Hairston, who made his first three starts of the season against right-handed starters this past week, is 6-for-21 with two doubles in a five-game hitting streak.
