--RHP Heath Bell picked up his ninth save by working 1 1/3 innings Friday night. It marked the first time since Scott Linebrink worked 1 1/3 innings on Sept. 25, 2006, that a Padres closer went more than one inning to get the save. Bell extended his scoreless-inning streak since the start of the season to 14.

--RHP Luke Gregerson worked 2/3 of a scoreless inning Friday night just ahead of Bell as the Padres eighth-inning man du jour. Gregerson has a 0.00 ERA for 9 1/3 innings at home against a 10.61 ERA covering 9 1/3 innings on the road.

--RF Brian Giles popped out with the bases loaded in the second, then lost a line drive in the lights at Petco Park, allowing two runs to score on Correia. But in the seventh he had one of four singles in the Padres' decisive three-run rally.

MEDICAL WATCH:

SS Luis Rodriguez (sprained left ankle) left the May 13 game, and he sat out May 14. He likely will be placed on the disabled list.

RHP Cha Seung Baek (strained right forearm) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to March 30. He threw a bullpen session April 21 and will throw another April 24. He began a rehab assignment with Class A Lake Elsinore on April 28 but had a setback May 10 because of a separate strain in the same forearm. He is out indefinitely and was transferred to the 60-day DL on May 15.

RHP Shawn Hill (right elbow inflammation) went on the 15-day disabled list April 25.

RHP Walter Silva (right forearm strain) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to April 14. He made rehab starts for Class AAA Portland on May 5 and May 10.

OF Cliff Floyd (inflamed right knee) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to April 5 with a right shoulder strain. He had recovered from the shoulder injury when the knee problem began.

INF Everth Cabrera (broken hamate bone in left hand) went on the 60-day disabled list April 20. He had surgery April 21, and he's expected to be out six to eight weeks before beginning an extended rehab assignment.

RHP Mike Adams (right shoulder surgery in October 2008) went on the 15-day disabled list April 2, and he was transferred to the 60-day DL on April 5.

RHP Mark Worrell (Tommy John elbow surgery in March 2009) went on the 15-day disabled list April 2, and he was transferred to the 60-day DL on April 5. He is out for the season.

RHP Mark Prior (right shoulder surgeries in April 2007 and June 2008) was progressing as the Padres broke camp. He suffered a setback in extended spring training in late April, delaying his rehab.
