MEDICAL WATCH:
LF Justin Huber (back spasms) left the May 28 game and did not play May 29. RHP Chris Young (nasal and facial fractures) went on the 15-day disabled list May 22.
C Josh Bard (left high ankle sprain) went on the 15-day disabled list May 22. He will miss four to six weeks, manager Bud Black said.
RHP Jake Peavy (right elbow strain) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to May 15, and he will miss at least a month.
RHP Mark Prior (right shoulder surgery in April 2007) went on the 60-day disabled list retroactive to March 21. He has suffered a significant setback in mid-May, with a tear in the capsule of the shoulder. He was shut down for at least two weeks.
RHP Kevin Cameron (strained right elbow) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to May 7.
RHP Clay Hensley (right labrum surgery in September 2007) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to March 21. He began a minor league rehab assignment on April 24. He felt pain in his surgically repaired shoulder while pitching for Class AAA Portland in early May, and he went back to extended spring training. He resumed pitching for Portland on May 19.
LHP Justin Hampson (sore left shoulder) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to March 21. He began a rehab assignment with Class A Lake Elsinore on May 19.
RHP Carlos Guevara (right groin strain) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to March 21. He began a rehab assignment with Class AAA Portland on May 18.
RHP Tim Stauffer (torn labrum in right shoulder) went on the 60-day disabled list retroactive to March 21. He had season-ending surgery May 23.
